SOCIAL CARE WORKER – LIMERICK CITY and WEST LIMERICK
PERMANENT FULL TIME CONTRACTS

 BASED ACROSS MULTIPLE WORKING LOCATIONS

 
With some exceptions the typical work pattern in Brothers of Charity Limerick is comprised of a rolling fortnightly roster as follows:
  • Week 1: Sunday on duty, Wednesday & Thursday on duty
  • Week 2: Monday & Tuesday on duty, Friday & Saturday on duty

The most typical shift type is sleepover shifts, although there are some limited exceptions to this where 12 hours day shifts are used.

The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, Limerick Region, provides residential, educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout Limerick City and County.

The Role of a Social Care Worker
Social Care Workers fulfil a key worker supportive and advocative role for individuals supported by the service. The Social Care Worker role is to support the person in all aspects of their life focusing on the individual's ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times. You will assist in all aspects of the practical tasks associated with the daily life of the person supported. The Social Care Worker will assist and support people who use the service with development of their individual person centred plans and the achievement of associated outcomes, and critically, will support people who use the service to make informed choices and fulfil their potential. They will encourage participation in the community through inclusive and creative thinking, seek opportunities for new experiences and encourage positive risk taking in leading to informed choices.
We require bright ambitious individuals who have a positive attitude towards working with persons with an intellectual disability and who are committed to ensuring that our persons supported lead as normal and enjoyable a life as possible. Qualifications:    
Hold a recognised qualification and have eligibility to register as a Social Care Worker according to CORU registration requirements.

Essential:
Hold a full clean manual drivers licence
Desirable
12 months experience in a relevant setting

Remuneration:
€36,945, €38,472, €40,352, €41,727, €43,118, €44,515, €45,394, €47,375, €48,806, €50,264, €51,743, €51,743, €51,743, €52,720 LSI

We provide a 24 hour 7 day a week service for people with an intellectual disability and this is reflected in our shift patterns.   Premium Payments apply to shift working with hourly rate paid for sleepovers.
